Infection Control Statement
Version 1
Issued 22/10/2026
Draft. Not yet approved by the studio's qualified practitioner. Do not issue to clients.
Your safety comes first. This is what you can expect to see when you have a tattoo or piercing at Rebellious Ink. You are welcome to ask questions at any time.
Needles and sharp items
- Needles and tattoo cartridges are single-use. They come in sealed sterile packs.
- Your practitioner opens the sterile pack in front of you.
- Used needles go straight into a sharps container. They are never reused.
- Razors and other sharp items are single-use too.
Equipment and surfaces
- Your practitioner washes or sanitises their hands, and wears fresh disposable gloves for your procedure. They change them whenever needed.
- Surfaces and equipment that cannot be cleaned between clients are covered with a fresh barrier.
- Treatment areas are cleaned between every client.
- Ink goes into single-use caps. Fresh ink is poured for you and thrown away after.
Sterilisation
- Reusable instruments are cleaned, then sterilised in an autoclave (a steam steriliser).
- We keep a log of each autoclave cycle. You can ask to see it.
- Piercing jewellery is either supplied sterile and opened in front of you, or sterilised in our autoclave.
Waste
- Sharps go into approved sharps containers.
- Other clinical waste is collected by a registered waste carrier.
Registration and display
- Our council registration certificate (or licence) is on display in the studio.
- Practitioners are registered with the local council, and you can ask to see their details.
- The studio is inspected by the local council's environmental health team.
Everyone is treated the same
We use the same precautions for every client, every time. This is called standard infection control precautions.
If something does not look right
Please say so. You can stop at any time. If you are still not happy, our Complaints and Feedback guide explains what to do.
Practitioner to confirm: every statement above matches how the studio actually works, and delete any that does not. In particular confirm the sterilisation method and autoclave log arrangements, whether jewellery is bought in sterile or sterilised in the studio, the sharps container standard, the waste carrier arrangements, how practitioners' registration and training are shown, and the frequency of council inspection. Do not add claims about practitioners' vaccinations or training unless they are true and recorded.
